The Adventure:

Unplug from the digital world and step into a realm of natural exploration in our Biodiversity & Sustainability Academy, designed to captivate your preteen with the mysteries of nature. Over our 12-session journey, we’ll provide a hands-on, interactive learning experience.

Hands-On Learning Experiences:

1. Gardening & Propagation: Learn the fundamentals of gardening, from planting seeds to understanding the life cycles of plants. Each child will also cultivate the art of propagation, creating new plants from cuttings to add to their personal collection.
2. Hydroponics: Discover soilless cultivation with a homemade hydroponics project. This water-based method of growing plants offers a unique peek into a different kind of gardening.
3. Insect Investigations: Dive into the world of insects, understanding their role in pollination and decomposition. Build bug hotels, conduct scavenger hunts, and even start a simple ant farm.
4. Native Plant Focus: Develop an appreciation for local flora by creating a mini native plant garden, learning the importance of local biodiversity along the way.
5. Rainwater Collection: Emphasize the importance of water conservation through a rainwater collection project, reinforcing environmental consciousness.
6. Bird Feeders: Create bird feeders, encouraging local avian diversity and providing a rich opportunity for birdwatching and species identification.

Your preteen will be busy with these stimulating activities, fostering real-life friendships, and coming home with a bounty of plants, seeds, and a personalized nature journal.

This immersive journey is about more than just gardening. It will nurture crucial life skills such as responsibility, patience, and a deeper understanding of sustainability.
